Only a few bottles remain!
Early on we created a wine club so that AVV fans could enjoy regular shipments of our new releases. Our club has grown with many members enjoying both the new wine and new friends they have met at the winery. Over the years we’ve held an annual Spring Bash, bringing club members together to enjoy a day at the winery.
The highlight of our Spring Bash is usually the competition where teams vie for the chance to create the blend for our Wine Club Reserve. Once again Covid made hosting an event a bit challenging, but "Team AVV" prevailed with an in-house staff competition. Wine Club Members and frequent winery visitors will recognize our winner - Robynn Chapman. She blended the top wine, a creation of Malbec, Merlot and Petit Verdot.
2021 was almost a perfect growing season, though it began with a cold start, and lack of rain. The weather warmed up, but the drought continued. This was followed by weeks of steady daytime heat and cool evenings. The berries ripened evenly, however yields were a bit lighter than in prior vintages due to the lack of rainfall. The components were aged in our caves for 16 months in French and American oak barrels.
At the competition this savory blend stood out with enticing aromas, great balance and texture. In the glass there are aromas of dark fruits, crushed berries, chocolate and oak. This is a big, lush wine with ripe fruit flavors of plum, red cherry and blueberry. Pour a glass and you’ll quickly agree that this rich structured wine has the finish to be a winner!
